Freedom Thief

By A. Mountfort

Imprisoned and stunted by these four walls
The voice is too small and distant to hear the calls
The unfairness and injustice of no crime
But forced by life to do the time
Ones so small suffers by the greed
How much must they go through for you to succeed
Time ticks on and the days get old
And still they sit waiting to be told
How long must this insanity last
The need to stand up and run it must be fast
The dire urgency for times to shift
Burdened with oppression too heavy to lift
Hearts abundant and full of grief
Away with you forever, you freedom thief!
